Advanced Academy (Frameworks, Scripting & Integration)
Designed for experienced QA engineers, this track covers data-driven testing frameworks, dynamic request chaining, Groovy scripting, AI-assisted development, and continuous integration.
Course Outline
- 1. Data-Driven Testing & Request Chaining
Property Transfer Steps: Dynamic token, ID, and key extraction to build sequential workflows (e.g., Create → Read → Update → Delete).
Data-Driven Frameworks (DDT): Integrating external data sources (CSV, Excel, or SQL databases) using DataSource and DataSource Loop steps.
Reusable Test Steps: Designing modular, reusable test steps to reduce test suite duplication. - 2. Groovy Scripting & Advanced Logic
Script TestSteps: Writing custom Groovy logic using the SoapUI object model (testRunner, context, log).
Payload Parsing: Dynamic JSON/XML parsing using JsonSlurper and XmlSlurper.
Programmatic Assertions: Building conditional if/else logic, dynamic loops, and custom pass/fail script evaluations. - 3. AI-Powered API Testing
AI-Assisted Scripting: Utilizing Generative AI tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) to generate Groovy scripts and complex Regex patterns.
Prompt Strategies: Crafting effective prompts for quick payload validation, dynamic mock data generation, and debugging. - 4. Execution, Reporting & CI/CD Pipelines
Test Suite Execution: Running test suites via SoapUI GUI and TestRunner command-line interfaces.
Reporting Frameworks: Generating standard execution reports and creating custom HTML/text reports via Groovy scripts.
CI/CD & Defect Integration: Connecting SoapUI executions into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps) and tracking results in defect tools (Jira).
Location
Onsite training can either take place in our premises on Mlynske Nivy 5, 821 09 Bratislava or in the premises of our client.
